>From the President's Office

With the flu season approaching, we are all aware of the potential
spread of the H1N1 virus. Please know that at this time, there have been
no confirmed cases of the virus on any CPCC campus. The College has a
number of processes in place to minimize the spread of the flu virus,
and is working to communicate preventative measures as often and as
visibly as possible. The College will work with students and staff to
exercise flexibility, especially regarding absenteeism, during this
critical time. For information on College policies around communicable
diseases, please refer to Policy 6.0
<http://inside.cpcc.edu/P&PManual/ppm6-0/ppm6o00.htm> . Please also take
the time to review and become familiar with the recommended preventative
measures suggested by the Centers for Disease Control. Feel free to
print this Stop the Spread of Germs

areas and classrooms.

*	Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or
sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
*	If no tissue is available, cough into your shirt sleeve.
*	Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you
cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
*	Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs can be spread
this way.
*	Try to avoid close contact with sick people. Avoid shaking
*	If you or a family member becomes sick with flu-like symptoms,
stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from
infecting them for at least 24 hours after free from fever. Seek
medical attention if needed.

As always, we will work together to ensure a safe and productive
learning environment.
