Director, Personal Interest and Lifelong Learning Institute, Position
#3COMEDS-FEA-3, REQ. #440. CPCC is seeking a director for Personal
Interest and Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI). The CPCC Lifelong
Learning Institute is designed to help adults in their mid-40's to early
60s as they transition to new careers, explore new interests and tackle
new life challenges. The institute provides guidance, resources and
courses (both career-focused and lifestyle oriented) to help individuals
find pathways toward achieving their goals for midlife and beyond. The
Personal Interest program covers a broad spectrum of public and
customized courses and includes those in fitness and health, home or
garden, cooking, arts and crafts, kayaking, motorcycle riding, dance and
much more. The successful candidate will have experience in working with
adults and in program and budget management. Competencies and behaviors
required include leadership, planning, priority setting, problem
solving, and creativity. The selected candidate will also demonstrate
his or her ability to be action-oriented and driven for results to
include the design and implementation of a marketing plan, plus active
engagement with external partners. Additional requirements include
strong skills in verbal and written communication, and basic computer
applications. The top candidate will also bring research and analytic
skills as well as knowledge of the aging network system at state and
federal levels and issues relating to the aging population. Experience
in writing and seeking grants a plus. The director of Lifelong Learning
Institute and Personal Interest program will provide leadership to staff
and manage budgets for these two areas. Bachelor's degree from an
accredited institution in adult education or related field; and six (6)
years of related work experience in teaching and developing adult
education programs (or part-time equivalent). Closings Date: Open until
