Festival Coordinator, #3CENTDN-FEP-1. REQ. #305. This position is
available in the Arts and Communications Division located on Central
Campus. The festival coordinator coordinates various aspects of
planning, presenting and supporting an annual multi-faced celebration of
literature, art, music, film and culture at Central Piedmont Community
College. Requires knowledge of standard procedures in a field requiring
comprehensive training typically acquired through attainment of a
bachelor's degree in arts, communication, event planning or related
filed; one (1) year of directly related experience. Excellent written
and oral communication skills; listening and questioning skills; ability
to make presentations; excellent organizational and time management
skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and/or project are
essential. Closing Date: May 20, 2008.
Program Developer, Institute for Entrepreneurship, #3SMBUSN-FEP-2. REQ.
#308. (2 positions). Positions available in Institute for
Entrepreneurship located on Central Campus. The Institute for
Entrepreneurship is a continuing education program dedicated to
supporting hopeful entrepreneurs and existing small business owners in
the Charlotte region. Annually it serves over 2,000 individuals through
classes, seminars, one-one-one counseling, and its onsite Resource
Center. The program developer plans and organized the program offerings
for small business owners and entrepreneurs. Responsibilities include
hiring and evaluation of instructors; set up and completion of classes
and required documentation; event planning and coordination of
entrepreneurial activities with other program areas of CCE and CPCC,
resources providers, and partner organizations; working closely with
institute team and the college's marketing department to plan and
implement marketing strategies, including website content and
maintenance; client intake counseling to ensure appropriate guidance and
referrals; active participation with IE team to set and meet action
plans and goals to contribute to the achievement of overall CCE/CPCC
goals. Requires broad knowledge of basic theories and principles,
concepts and methodology of a specific professional discipline related
to the appropriate program area. Associate's degree and two years of
responsible administrative experience required. Bachelor's degree and
experience preferred. Strong computer applications skills and website
experience; demonstrated strength in written and communication skills;
organizational skills; interpersonal skills; and willingness to engage
in teamwork. Successful candidate will show enthusiasm for customer
service and demonstrate ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
while meeting objectives in a fast-paced environment. Closing Date: May
21, 2008.

Academic Advisor, #3ADLTBE-FEP-7, REQ. #310. (INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY).
The academic advisor position is available in Community Development
located on Central Campus. Duties include conducting Basic Skills
Orientations for new students, academic advising, compiling students
records, submitting reports/grades, and communication with faculty.
Requires broad knowledge of basic theories and principles, concepts, and
methodology of a general professional field acquired through the
attainment of a bachelor's degree in education or preferably in the
areas of human/community services or counseling and one year of related
experience. Candidate must have excellent inter-personal skills and a
broad knowledge of the literacy programs: reporting, data collection,
and testing. Day and evening hours required. Closing Date: May 16,
2008.
