Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 2, on Charlotte Talks (9:00 a.m. on WFAE
90.7FM), Mike Collins will discuss an important environmental issue
regarding gardening with native plants to support wildlife and how
ordinary people can undo some of the damage that the rampant growth in
the region has done to the local wildlife habitat. His guest will be Dr.
Doug Tallamy, University of Delaware, who has recently published a book
called Bringing Nature Home: How Native Plants Sustain Wildlife in Our
Gardens.

Carol Buie-Jackson and I will also be on the show. Carol will comment on
backyard wildlife habitats and the efforts of HAWK (Habitat and Wildlife
Keepers), a chapter of the N.C. Wildlife Federation. I will comment on
the development of CPCC's program creating wildlife habitats on all six
campus locations across Mecklenburg County. Carol and I are both
certified by the National Wildlife Federation as Wildlife Habitat
Stewards.

Charlotte Talks will be repeated at 9:00 p.m. on WFAE 90.7FM.
