[Cpcommunicator] Library Services news for faculty and staff
>From Library Services
Reserve reminder to faculty:
Do you have any personal or library-owned materials that you would like
to be placed on reserve for the fall semester? If so, we ask that you
bring items to the designated library as soon as possible to ensure that
your request can be completed in a timely fashion.
In addition, please take a moment to review the following friendly
reminders regarding reserve materials and copyright compliance:
* Review the Library's Course Reserve Policy
<http://www1.cpcc.edu/library/visiting-the-library/library/visiting-the-
library/reservepolicy2007.pdf> .
* Check your course reserves list
<http://ipac.cpcc.edu/ipac20/ipac.jsp?session=1199726G85F8J.31131&profil
e=e&menu=search&submenu=reserves&ts=1199726085595#focus> to make sure
that the information listed is correct. Please note that Library owned
materials placed on reserve last semester have been removed.
* Library owned materials placed on reserve must be renewed each
semester.
* To place new items on reserve, complete the Online Course
Reserve Form <http://www.cpcc.edu/forms/library/reserves.asp> and take
items to the library where materials will be placed on reserve.
* When withdrawing materials from reserve, please inform library
staff of items to be removed from reserve status or come to the library
to remove items.
* The distribution of photocopied materials for reserves from the
same instructor, for the same course requires verification of copyright
clearance each semester. Permission to use and place articles on reserve
for consecutive semesters must be obtained via the Copyright Clearance
Center. <http://www/copyright.com>
* Consumable works such as workbooks or standardized tests can not
be placed on reserve.
Your anticipated cooperation in adhering to these policies and
procedures is appreciated. Please contact Yan.Wang at cpcc.edu or
Jennifer.Arnold at cpcc.edu if you have any additional questions or need
further assistance.
All-Search: Search Multiple Library Resources from One Search Box
There's a new way to search CPCC Library materials called All-Search,
which allows CPCC Library users to search our library catalog for books,
multiple magazine and journal databases for articles, and some
pre-selected websites from one search box, eliminating the need to
repeat the same search in each resource. All you need to do is enter
your search terms and pick one or more categories to search. Librarians
have assigned the most relevant resources to each category to make it
easier for you to find reliable information faster.
All-Search
<http://wfxsearch.webfeat.org.ezproxy.cpcc.edu/wfsearch/menu?cid=11003>
can be found in the "Find-an-article"
<http://www1.cpcc.edu/library/find-an-article> section of the Library
website. For a quick video tutorial on using All-Search click here
<http://people.cpcc.edu/~osm6482e/quicktutorials/allsearchst.htm> . This
resource is available from on-campus and off-campus, with the use of
your SNAP ID.
If you need assistance, please contact the librarian at your campus.
Looking for movies or films in CLICK
<http://www1.cpcc.edu/library/find-a-book> ? Our online catalog has just
gotten easier!
With enhanced cataloging records, feature (popular movies), short films
(based on short stories), documentaries, film adaptations and other
categories can be located using the general keyword search option. For
example, to see if the library owned a DVD or VHS of A Worn Path by
Eudora Welty, just type 'worn path' in the search box. If you want to
see a list of all holdings for short films, type 'short films' in the
adjacent search box.
