Learning College Idea of the Month: Andy Corder, Business and
Accounting, takes seriously his responsibility for advising students.
Andy has developed a classroom advisement presentation that he reviews
with each of his classes. The PowerPoint focuses on teaching students
how to look up their own student records. They can determine if basic
information is correct (address/phone/etc.); whether the College has the
right program of study; how many hours needed to graduate; current GPA;
and other information that a student needs to know to help with his or
her own advisement. The presentation shows how to find this information
and how to interpret it.
