CHARLOTTE CHAPTER BURN SURVIVORS EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP
Firefighters' Burned Children Fund, Inc
The Charlotte Chapter of the FFBCF will award three scholarships in
amounts up to $3,000 per school year for undergraduate education,
continuing education or personal education enrichment (university,
college or trade courses)
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible
1. A burn survivor 25 years old and under.
2. Currently accepted or enrolled in a college, university, or
trade school.
3. Model exemplary behavior as a recipient of a FFBCF Scholarship.
4. Current or former resident of N.C. - The Charlotte Chapter
will giver preference to Mecklenburg county residents or those who
attend N.C. Schools. All burns survivors are encouraged to apply.
Please attach the following items to your application:
1. Biographical information form
2. Most recent official high school, college or trade school
transcripts that includes credits and GPA or official copy of GED
3. Acceptance letter or a copy of invoice from your college,
university or trade school, if available.
4. One letter of reference form non-school staff and non-family
member (physical therapist, physician, religious leader, employer, etc.)
5. One letter of reference form school staff; counselor,
administrator, or teacher/professor
6. Proof of current residency.
Answer the each of the following questions on a separate page in the
following format:
* Limit answers of each question to 50 words or less
* Write the number of the question and the question above
your answer.
1. On what basis do you think that you are a deserving scholarship
recipient? (Include life experience, community service you have done)
2. How will your college/university degree or trade school
certificate contribute to your life goals?
3. How has your burn injury influenced and impacted your life and
the person that you are today?
The entire application must be totally completed, or it will be
disqualified.
DEADLINE: Scholarship deadlines are open-ended. Please return one
package. FFBCF reserves the right to limit scholarship awards each year.
FFBCF recipients:
* Will be notified and awarded
* Will be publicly announced at FFBCF event in October of
the award year
* Must supply copies of school invoices and present or write
a 50 word statement to the FFBCF Board on how this scholarship assisted
you in your educational development within one year of the award.
* May re-apply each year.
CHARLOTTE CHAPTER FIRE/BURN RECOVERY ASSISTANCE SCHOLARSHIP
Firefighters' Burned Children Fund
The Charlotte Chapter of the FFBCF will award one scholarship up to
$1,000 per school year for undergraduate education related to the study
of fire/burn recovery from an accredited college or university.
Graduate studies not included.
Continuing education units will be considered.
(Examples: nursing, medical, healthcare, therapy, counseling)
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible
1. Currently accepted or enrolled in a college or university
completing courses related to fire/burn recovery.
2. An interest in fire/burn public education.
3. Model exemplary behavior as a recipient of a FFBCF Scholarship.
4. Current resident of Charlotte Metro Area. Preference will be
given to Mecklenburg county residents or those employed in Mecklenburg
County.
