Dear Friend of CPCC:

As president of Central Piedmont Community College, I am proud to say
that you can look anywhere in Mecklenburg County and see evidence of our
work. Our vision to become the national leader in workforce development
has actually become a reality, and the result of our outstanding efforts
is being recognized across the country. Although our community college
is the largest of the 58 community colleges in North Carolina, our focus
is not on numbers, but on students and their success. We also are
committed to providing skilled workers for area employers. Because of
this focus, our enrollment numbers are increasing each year.

CPCC serves more than 70,000 people throughout Mecklenburg County on six
campuses. This fall, CPCC class registrations were up 15 percent.
Enrollment growth has outpaced many community colleges across the state.
That's why the 2007 Bond Referendum is extremely critical to our
college.

On Tuesday, November 6, this community will have an opportunity to vote
on a $30 million bond referendum for our college. The college has been a
good steward of the community's money, with all of our local bond
dollars either spent or currently under contract. CPCC operates on a
lower cost per square foot than the national educational market and the
state community college average.

The $30 million bond request will allow CPCC to address some of the
growth and aging facility needs. The funds will also allow us to help
drive Mecklenburg County's economy. Our website will provide you with
detailed information regarding the 2007 bond request
<http://www1.cpcc.edu/2007bond> .

If you have questions about the bonds or would like additional
information, please contact Jerri Haigler in our Community Relations and
Public Affairs office at 704.330.6660 or email her at
jerri.haigler at cpcc.edu. I believe CPCC is certainly a good investment
that yields a great return for this community.

Sincerely,

Dr. Tony Zeiss

President
