[Cpcommunicator] Presentation on South Africa by Jay Potter 11/15 on Central
>From Rod Townley and Susan Oleson
As part of CPCC's Learning College initiative, the President's
Entrepreneurial Team is sponsoring a brown bag lunch at 12:00 p.m. on
Thursday, November 15 in IT 2130. This will be an opportunity to learn
about an African country from Jay Potter, who just returned from South
Africa. Jay will discuss his perceptions of South Africa as they relate
to:
* Economic development
* Education
* Infrastructure development
* Land reform
* Political reconciliation
* Race relations/end of apartheid
* Culture
* Economic promise/opportunities
Jay feels that the American media does not do a good job covering
countries, especially African countries. He intends to give people a
different perspective of a country that has weathered many challenges,
but is an example of a diverse country peacefully resolving its
conflicts.
Please register through LearnerWeb <http://pd.cpcc.edu/> and to receive
professional development credit. Drinks and dessert will be provided.
