On Saturday, November 3, CPCC hosted the first Free College Day at
Central and Cato campuses. The event was designed to give the community
a glimpse at all the College has to offer. Guests could attend more than
60 free, one-hour classes, take campus tours, visit information booths,
and much more. Saturday's event was a huge success with more than 500 in
attendance.

An event of this magnitude would not have been possible without help
from various areas of the College. More than 100 volunteers gave of
their time to make the event a success. From instructors who led the
classes, to volunteers who greeted and registered guests, the event was
certainly a team effort. I'd like to thank everyone involved with Free
College Day.

Special thanks to Mark Little, who was the main organizer of the event,
and the Marketing Department for all of their assistance. Thanks also to
Stuart Beame for coordinating the registration process, and Libby
Vagnoni for recruiting and coordinating volunteers. CPCC is fortunate to
have such dedicated and committed employees.

The CPCC website has a recap of the day along with photos from the
event. Check it out at
