We will never forget the tragic event that occurred at Virginia Tech on
April 16, 2007. Virginia Tech is still dealing with the aftermath of the
incident and expects it to be an ongoing concern for the foreseeable
future.

Malik Rahman and the CPCC Information Technology Services department
would like to invite the college community to a free webinar offered by
Educause that will encapsulate summaries of the IT-related lessons
learned from the Virginia Tech tragedy.

This webinar will include the impact on the university's communication
system; the notification issue; radio communications interoperability;
and the sheer logistics of accommodating the communications
infrastructure and control center needs for a variety of emergency
responders and law enforcement. Identity management, privacy; data
preservation and computer forensics will also be discussed. Overriding
all of these issues is the question of federal, state, and local
policies and ways in which policy issues were encountered, confronted,
and managed.

Please join us for this informative session.
