Safety Technician, Sr. (PT) #2HEALTH-HNC-2 Position available in Occupational Health and Safety Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performs routine safety inspections at all campus locations to check for fire and life safety code violations; Assists with scheduling annual fire inspections for each campus and works with personnel in various CPCC departments and Fire Department in Charlotte-Mecklenburg on ensuring compliance on all special events, pyrotechnic displays, and tent erection regulations requiring fire permits, and watch requirements. Assists with scheduling fire drills and maintaining records on the drills at each campus to ensure that every building at the College will have a scheduled drill. Assists with maintaining the Building Emergency Captain Program. Requires associate's degree and one year of experience in safety, fire prevention or related field; completion of OSHA basic safety training or similar programs; extensive experience related to safety and emergency response may be substituted for the Associate's degree. Accounting Specialist, Position #4ENRLDN-FNC-3 This position performs a variety of technical accounting tasks related to preparing, maintaining, and reviewing financial reports and records. Processes various forms and other financial information and materials; enters financial information; balances and reconciles assigned accounts and/or funds; researches and reconciles any problems or discrepancies; gathers and summarizes data; conducts research and analyzes information; prepares financial reports; prepares various journal entries; may make recommendations regarding journal entries; enters budget revision requests and other financial information into computer system; may review computer printouts for accuracy; monitors activity in assigned accounts; may audit specified accounts for accuracy; may create accounts; provides information and respond to inquiries; may advise departments on policies and procedures relating to budget and other financial questions; reviews various financial forms and records; may research and resolve discrepancies. Performs a variety of complex technical tasks related to maintaining campus facilities and systems. Designs and builds equipment or completes renovations to assist in achieving college goals. Requires high school diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience. A valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver's license at the start of employment. Technical training in plumbing, electrical work, general construction, concrete, masonry, carpentry, dry wall and welding preferred. Closing Date March 23, 2007.

Based on our Harris Campus, this position is part of our Student Success Services and requires a broad knowledge of basic theories and principles, concepts and methodology of a general professional field acquired through the attainment of a bachelor's degree in education or a related field and one year of related experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, provides information and guidance to new, prospective and undecided students to facilitate transition to the college environment, assists students with program planning, course selection and scheduling and in the development of an academic success plan (20 hours per week). This position provides academic counseling to new and prospective students without an academic major; explains policies, procedures, and program requirements and assists students in selecting educational and career goals; advises and counsels students in planning and selecting courses that meet educational and career goals; consults with students regarding academic problems or concerns and assists students in obtaining support to meet these specific needs; reviews, interprets, and evaluates applicant test scores and other information to determine eligibility status; maintains library of educational and career information; reviews and updates information as necessary; designs, schedules, and facilitates training sessions for faculty on use of databases for advising purposes. Minimum qualifications are a bachelor's degree in education, psychology, sociology, human services, history, communications, or counseling education from an accredited institution and one year of full-time experience related to academic advising (or the equivalent in part-time experience).
