Safety Technician, Sr. (PT) #2HEALTH-HNC-2. Position available in the Occupational Health and Safety Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performs routine safety inspections at all campus locations to check for fire and life safety code violations; assists with scheduling annual fire inspections for each campus and works with personnel in various CPCC departments and Fire Department in Charlotte-Mecklenburg on ensuring compliance on all special events, pyrotechnic displays, and tent erection regulations requiring fire permits, and watch requirements. Assists with scheduling fire drills and maintaining records on the drills at each campus to ensure that every building at the College will have a scheduled drill. Assists with maintaining the Building Emergency Captain Program. Requires associate's degree and one year of experience in safety, fire prevention or related field; completion of OSHA basic safety training or similar programs; extensive experience related to safety and emergency response may be substituted for the associate's degree.
