[Cpcommunicator] Law Enforcement Memorial Scholarships opportunity

Foundation for the Carolinas is pleased to make available two $750
scholarships to students at CPCC through the Law Enforcement Memorial
Scholarship Fund.
The Law Enforcement Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1987 in
memory of Robert L. Smith and all other officers slain in the line of
duty. The purpose of the scholarship fund is to provide assistance to
undergraduate students majoring in the field of law enforcement. The
selection of the scholarship recipient is at the discretion of CPCC in
accordance with the criteria set forth in the guidelines listed below:
1. Recipients must be students at CPCC.
2. Recipients must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average
(on a 4.0 scale).
3. Recipients must be majoring in the law enforcement field.
4. Recipients must exemplify the highest standards of the law
enforcement field in regard to service, leadership and character.
5. There is no geographic residency requirement for recipients.
6. Scholarships must be awarded without regard to race, color, gender,
sexual orientation, religion, age or national origin.
7. Recipients must submit two letters of recommendation--one from a
teacher or other college official and one from a non-related adult.
Deadline for submission is August 8.
