The CPCC Libraries invite you to join us for the last of two special
presentations being held in conjunction with the Smithsonian and NOAA
"From Sea to Shining Sea" poster exhibit.

On Wednesday, July 18, Mecklenburg County Geospatial Information
Services professionals will discuss historic mapping and mapping
technologies. The presentation will also include demonstrations of a
historic mapping web viewer and the use of technology to locate old gold
mines in Mecklenburg County. Traditional surveying techniques will also
be demonstrated by the City of Charlotte Surveyor.

On Thursday, July 19, new Internet mapping applications that support
delivery of information to citizens such as POLARIS and Economic Web
Development will be demonstrated. The presentation will also discuss the
use of global positioning systems (GPS) to capture real-time location
data.

Both of the presentations will be held in Pease Auditorium from
6:00-7:00 p.m. Cookies and punch will be served.
