Central Piedmont Community College

Hello everyone. I am pleased to report that yesterday the County
Commission voted to support the College's bond requests of $30 million
for a Van Every replacement building, some technology infrastructure,
and renovations on the Citizens Center on the Central Campus. They also
approved an additional $21 million to construct a new parking deck on
the Central Campus to be paid for by Certificates of Deposit.

 

We owe a debt of thanks to each of you who continue to serve our
students and community so well. Thanks also for promoting the value and
needs of this fine college. We are all ambassadors in this respect.

 

If you know a County Commissioner, please join me in thanking them for
their continued support of this growing college. We could not be
changing the lives of thousands of people per year or contributing so
strongly to our economy without their support.  

 

Now we need to begin our community information campaign to insure a
successful referendum in November. We will keep you posted on how you
can help. A one-on-one campaign is the most effective, but if you have a
group that we could address, just let me or Jerri Haigler know and we
will set up a speaker (704-330-6660).
