[Cpcommunicator] Charlotte Quilters' Guild scholarship opportunity

The Charlotte Quilters' Guild is now accepting applications for its
annual scholarships. There are two scholarships currently available.
The Guilds' preferred candidate will:
* Be a resident of Mecklenburg, Gaston, Lincoln, Iredell,
Cabarrus, Union, York, or Lancaster County.
* Be studying textile arts or related field at a local college
or university.
* Have maintained a 2.0 grade point average (GPA)
* Have a financial need for a scholarship
* Be a quilter who intends to pursue quilting as a vocation or a
hobby after graduation.
* Be able to present their work at the Guild's June meeting or
next mutually agreeable date.
* Be willing to loan the Guild one of their finished quilts for
display at the Charlotte Quilters' Guild annual Quilt Show.
The Anna Nachman Memorial Scholarship is considering candidates who
* Are residents of Mecklenburg, Gaston, Lincoln, Iredell,
Cabarrus, Union, York, or Lancaster County.
* Have maintained a 2.5 or better grade point average (GPA)
* Are pursuing a textile and a design curriculum
* Applicant need not be a quilter
Each scholarship award is $1,000.00 (one thousand dollars). In the event
of a tie, two $500.00 (five hundred dollars) awards will be presented.
The award is open to male and female applicants and there is no
restriction on past applicants presenting new applications.
Applications forms must be submitted along with slides or photographs of
the applicant's work and a letter or essay describing the work and how
it was designed and completed.
Completed applications are due postmarked no later than March 31, 2007.
