[Cpcommunicator] ADVISORY: Network password change policy effective 3/31

In order to comply with N.C. State Information Technology Guidelines, a
new College policy regarding employee network accounts will go into
effect beginning March 31, 2006.

 

This policy requires College employees to reset network account
passwords periodically to ensure the security of student and other data
residing on College information systems. New passwords must adhere to
security "best practices'" explained in the FAQ mentioned below. 

 

To avoid problems logging in to College computing resources, you must
change your account password by September 30, 2006. After that, you will
need to reset your password at least once every six months. 

 

In order to facilitate this process, ITS will be collecting "secret
question and answer" information from employees. This information will
be used for identification purposes, allowing employees to reset
passwords online.
