Moodle Workshop I: Creating online/hybrid courses
Wed 8/3/2005
Location: IT 2122
Time:  9:00am - 12:00pm
This hands-on session is for faculty/staff who are new to Moodle.
Participants will be given a temporary course to work in and should
bring a sample syllabus, in digital format, to use in the workshop.
Topics include online/hybrid course design, customizing and navigating
courses in Moodle, creating a course summary module; and basic admin
function such as requesting masters/shells, course copying, using course
statistics and online 10% reports.

Moodle Workshop II: Creating online/hybrid courses
Thursday 8/4/2005
Location: IT 2122
Time:  9:00am - 12:00pm
Pre-requisite: Moodle Training Workshop I or previous experience.
In this hands-on session, Moodle resources and activities will be
explored. Participants will create a learning module: upload course
files, create assignments, discussion forums, options, glossaries,
polls. Participants need to bring digital content and be prepared to
create a unit of learning activities.

Moodle Workshop III: Creating online/hybrid courses
Friday 8/5/2005
Location: IT 2122
Time:  9:00am - 12:00pm
Pre-requisite: Moodle Workshop II or comparable user experience.
This session will offer hands-on practice in creating quizzes and
assessments in Moodle - importing questions, using Hot Potatoes
quiz-making software and managing the grade book. This is a good session
for seasoned Moodlers as there have been major enhancements to the grade
book in the last upgrade to v1.5.2 (July 2005).

Multimedia Training


Creating Audio for Your Online Course
Thursday, August 4,
Time:  2:00- 3:30pm (1 hr. demo; 30 min. hands-on)
Location:  IT 2122

This session will introduce you to the role of electronic audio, related
filetypes, and compression in online courses.  Following the one-hour
overview and demonstration, you will have an opportunity to create audio
files and upload them into your online course.  If you wish, you may
bring a short script for your practice recordings.
