Effective January 1, 2005, the dental plan for full-time employees of
CPCC will be provided through a subsidiary of the AIG insurance group.
The decision to move to AIG was made to provide cost savings and benefit
enhancements to employees. The rates for the new plan from AIG are below
the renewal rates provided by MAMSI.

 

The new plan with AIG will provide identical benefits to the current
plan plus two enhancements:

 

1) The maximum benefit amount for a calendar year  will be $1500 (old
amount was $1,000)

 

2) Certain types of services (such as fillings) will be covered at 90%
instead of the current 80% if the employee uses one of the dental
providers in the PPO network.  If you continue to use your dentist and
he/she is not in the network, these benefits will remain covered at 80%.

 

Enrollment and information sessions will be held at each campus next
week as indicated in the schedule below.  

 

All employees currently enrolled in the MAMSI plan need to complete a
new application form for the AIG plan. 

 

An employee may also join the plan or add additional dependents during
next week's open enrollment sessions, subject to waiting periods for
certain types of procedures due to late enrollment in the plan. This
waiting period will be discussed during the information sessions.
Currently enrolled employees and their currently enrolled dependents
will not be subject to any waiting periods.

 

The monthly payroll deduction rates for the new plan (deductions will be
made from the December paycheck) are as follows:
