-- From Celese Ward

The distance learning platform steering committee met on April 7 and
decided that--after having reviewed the offerings of numerous vendors, Angel, E-college, Web CT and others--a recommendation to select Blackboard 6 Enterprise and a proposed timeline for summer implementation would be forwarded to the College Senate and to Instruction.

The College Senate made adjustments to the timeline and approved the following:

May 13
Semester ends-Instructors save grades, final exam and the answer key
(for incompleters) and archive courses. Instructions on closing out your
course can be found on
(http://virtual.cpcc.edu/training/faculty-staff/blackboard6.htm)

May 14 at 12:00 pm, existing Blackboard platform will become unavailable (neither faculty or students will be able to access any grades or other information after this deadline)

After May 20 the Virtual Campus will have access to archived courses. For additional assistance call ext. 6692 or 6368. Please send a message to your students to let them know their grades are viewable on Blackboard only until May 14 at noon.

May 19
Instructors gain access to the new Blackboard 6 enterprise system.
Training on the new features, functions and processes is available through
your Virtual Campus team. Additional information will follow in a subsequent email.

May 19-30
Instructors take training, identify a master course, make
modifications to the master, copy from the master course to the course section shells.

May 31
GO LIVE-Start of summer semester

The success of this migration project depends on the participation and
awareness of all faculty and division directors.
